Community Garden Pond Works

Over the next few weeks the Buds Community Garden Group will be finding the wildlife hidden in the pond, removing the punctured liner and adding a clay base. This should limit the water escaping leaving the flora and fauna high and dry.

The next meeting of the Waverley Community Council is on Thursday 9th January at 7:30pm at the AMP in the Brearley Room.

The agenda for the meeting and the draft minutes from the previous meeting can be found on the website. As always you are welcome to attend. Please note that access to the AMP is at the side-door. Entry can be gained at 7:15pm onwards and the meeting starts promptly at 7:30pm.

This Saturday, 4th January, at 11am we will be undressing the Christmas tree in Central Park.

Residents are welcome to come along and help pack the lights and baubles away until next year.

As Christmas is just around the corner, we all wanted to wish you a very "Merry Christmas".

Waverley is very blessed with an active community. We have the wonderful 'Waverley Living Advent Calendar', the School Christmas Jumper day with small gifts re-purposed from the cancelled Christmas light switch-on event, and a couple of church services open to all.

Precept update - 2025-26

The WCC were successful in getting the grant funding for the community centre. The implications of this, is that there is an underspend which can be put against the next financial year's budget.

The new defibrillator at Catcliffe Corner has been installed and registered with Yorkshire Ambulance Service who will instruct 999 callers to obtain it for use if required in an emergency situation.
